Date for your diary. The Doncaster Primary Schools Cross Country Event will be held at Hill House Independent School on Saturday 21st April 2012. Children will be chosen from the running club to represent the school nearer the event.
I have also received below some exciting information regarding Doncaster’s Brooks Run 10KM and Community Challenge Fun/Run
Dear School,
You may have seen recently in the PRESS and heard on the RADIO of an exciting new event for DONCASTER in our very special OLYMPIC YEAR, on Sunday 13th May 2012.
The BROOKS RUN DONCASTER 10KM event is run in conjunction with DMBC. This will be Doncaster`s first ever mass participation 10km road run and Community Challenge Fun/Run which is being run over 2km.
The event is starting and finishing at our famous Doncaster Racecourse and taking in TOWN FIELD, MARKETS AREA, FRENCHGATE CENTRE and returns to finish at RACECOURSE.
I wish to inform you that printed entry forms will be on their way to you shortly. Please would you be so kind to distribute amongst pupils and staff to encourage participation in what is going to be a great event for the town.
The main race is aimed at adults over the age of 16 years who can run 10km, but we have a great FUN/RUN which is just over 1mile and aimed at anyone that wants to take part who maybe under the age of 16 or not quite ready to run the 10k!
We would also like to inform you of a FREE RUNNING WORKSHOP aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 16 years. This is being held on SATURDAY 18TH FEBRUARY at the KEEP MOAT STADIUM ATHLETIC TRACK from 10am to 1pm. The event will be packed with loads of FUN, PRACTICLE SESSIONS, ADVICE and the chance to win prizes!
Kindest regards,
David Tune

Fancy winning a £10 gift voucher? Why don’t you enter our ‘Green Fingers Competition’?
As the Gardeners of HWPS, we are working hard to look after and improve the outdoor areas of school, not only to improve the school environment but also so we can make greater use of the outdoor space to help us with our learning.
We are seeking the help and expertise of members of the school and local community. We wish to send out a letter to local businesses and community groups to ask them if they could support our projects by providing help and advice or materials.
We invite you to write a letter to inform members of the school and local community what we aim to do and asking for any support or advice. The person who pens the winning letter, chosen by the Gardeners, will win a £10.00 gift voucher and their letter will be sent out to the community.
All entries need to be handed to the Gardeners by Thursday 23rd February and the winner will be announced in the celebration assembly on Friday 24th February.
So what are you waiting for, get those green fingers writing!
Year 6 Gardeners.
