ANIMAL RIDDLES – POEMS WRITTEN BY YEAR 5

A collection of poems written by Year 5. The aim was to describe an animal, using similes, metaphors and, where possible, personification. The reader then guesses what the creature is!

The first poem below is the Class Poem that we wrote collaboratively. The inspiration for the poem came from Pie Corbett, whom we have been studying in our Poetry unit this half term. Below is the full book of poems written by Year 5 – Enjoy!

Year 6 Technology Challenge

Each year after SATs, the children of Y6 get the opportunity to take part in a technology challenge. This year, the challenge was concerned with food. The class was divided up into 5 groups which would compete with each other to represent the school in the grand final at HVAC on Thursday of this week.

As part of international arts week and out 1960′s topic we have been learning about Andy Warhol. We have then created our own prints, inspired by his interest in branding!
