weeklytimetable 5.3.12Thank you to everyone who made a great effort for World Book Day last week. We really enjoyed listening to the author’s live presentations on-line. I especially enjoyed hearing about Holly Web- who also loves cats and has written a book called Magic Molly: the clever little kitten I hope it has inspired the children to start reading more books. Here is this weeks timetable, due to World Book Day- we have some catching up to do! Have a lovely week- Mrs Hannan

Fancy winning a £10 gift voucher? Why don’t you enter our ‘Green Fingers Competition’?
As the Gardeners of HWPS, we are working hard to look after and improve the outdoor areas of school, not only to improve the school environment but also so we can make greater use of the outdoor space to help us with our learning.
We are seeking the help and expertise of members of the school and local community. We wish to send out a letter to local businesses and community groups to ask them if they could support our projects by providing help and advice or materials.
We invite you to write a letter to inform members of the school and local community what we aim to do and asking for any support or advice. The person who pens the winning letter, chosen by the Gardeners, will win a £10.00 gift voucher and their letter will be sent out to the community.
All entries need to be handed to the Gardeners by Thursday 23rd February and the winner will be announced in the celebration assembly on Friday 24th February.
So what are you waiting for, get those green fingers writing!
Year 6 Gardeners.

In Numeracy we are currently looking at 2-d shapes and the children have been finding out the names and properties of shapes. The above website has some useful games to support the children investigating shapes.
